Wema Center Children’s Home

The hearty smiles and giggles that I warmly receive whenever I go for the Crochet Kenya donations give me a drive to carry on over and over.

I went to Wema Center Children’s Home in Mombasa this Saturday to donate beautiful handmade items and foodstuffs to the children as we often do. It has now become an annual commitment from us to this children’s home for 4 years now. Even last year we sent in a few items even though it was during lockdown.

So many items were made by #CrochetKenya volunteers: 6 blankets, 9 boy sweaters, 24 girls tops and sweaters, 38pad pouches, 73 sunhats, and 8 hairbands. In addition, we bought 2 maize bales, 2 ngano bales,10 liter oil, 3 boxes of pads, 25kg bag of rice, 10kg sugar bag, 15kg bag of washing powder, 1 box of pampers and goodies for the younger kids.

It was a delight😍🤩🥰.

We hope to continue doing this by the grace of God as we see the benefits of giving as a group and especially in this Lent season where we remember the passion of the Christ our Lord Jesus for the needy in our society.
